Well, I’m excited! In less than a week, I will be at the Columbia Public Library to help people fix their consumer products at the Fix It Fair. This is really my forte! I grew up taking things apart and then putting them back together, and never stopped. I’ve fixed such unique electronics like the toys on a room sized player organ, several of my children’s toys, TV broadcast equipment, and even a radio tower! I love to tinker.
Here is information about the event at the library’s website, found here:
“Stuff breaks. It’s a fact of life. But that doesn’t always mean you have to throw it away. If you have a smallish broken thing that you love or need to keep using, don’t throw it away! Learn how to fix it. A variety of handy volunteers will join us to share their knowledge of how to repair or mend different items. Co-sponsored by the City of Columbia and the Mid-Missouri Solid Waste Management District. Please only bring items that you can easily carry into the library. (No large appliances or microwaves).
Registration: Begins Monday, October 23.”
So come and join me! Bring along something that you would love to see working again, and I will do my best to help. I look forward to seeing you there!
